Jacque Vaughn shaking up his Nets coaching staff
The Nets are clearly in the midst of a staff restructuring, with half of their assistant coaches gone from the start of the season.
Brooklyn is parting ways with Igor Kokoskov, Brian Keefe and Tiago Splitter in a move first reported by ESPN, and confirmed by The Post.
The Nets began the season with eight assistant coaches under Steve Nash, went to seven when Jacque Vaughn got promoted (never filling his previous position), and are now down to four.
Kokoskov, formerly the Phoenix Suns head coach, was largely responsible for the offense.
The 6-foot-11 Splitter played seven seasons in the NBA and worked closely with the big men.
With the Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets and Toronto Raptors all looking to fill coaching staffs, all those veteran assistants could potentially be in the mix for those jobs.
Vaughn still has assistants Adam Caporn, Ryan Forehan-Kelly, Trevor Hendry and Royal Ivey on staff.
Caporn is very highly regarded and could conceivably be in the mix for a bump up the ranks, while Forehan-Kelly was the assistant that worked closely with center Nic Claxton last summer on his development. Claxton proceeded to post a career season.
