Angus T. Jones will wallow in the “filth” a little longer.

After twisting in the wind for a day. the young “Two and a Half Men” actor has been told by the show’s boss to report for work after the holidays, according to sources close the top-rated comedy.

“No one is saying, ‘All is forgiven.’ But he’s been told his job is safe — for now,” said the source.

The actor got the welcome news yesterday, at the end of a weeklong controversy that shocked fans and nearly cost the 19-year-old actor his $8-million-a-year role on the raunchy comedy.

Jones, his lawyer and his newly hired, crisis-management p.r. expert sent word on late Wednesday that Jones wanted to stay on the show — despite what he’d said in a YouTube video about wishing he were no longer on the hit comedy, said a source close to the actor.

Lorre waited 24 hours before finally calling Jones late yesterday and telling him that he was welcome to come back to the show after New Year’s, said another exec who asked not be named.

Jones, who’s been on the show since the age of 9 and was the highest-paid child actor in Hollywood, trashed the show as “filth” on the YouTube video, posted by an Internet preacher who’d been counseling the young actor.

Jones urged viewers to stop watching “Men” and said that he wants to quit.

“You cannot be a true, God-fearing person and be on a television show like that,” he said.

The video, Jones’ girlfriend, said yesterday, had never been intended “for the whole world” to see.

“He didn’t mean for it to come across for all people not to watch the show,” the girl, who identifies herself only as Sarah M, told Celebuz.com.

“He was just talking to the younger fans who are studying the Bible and that they shouldn’t be watching a half hour of dirty jokes if they’re starting their walk with God,” she said.

“He loves the show, he loves everyone and has a lot of fun. And he has a lot of fun talking to them about the church and the Bible.”

Jones’ contract with the show extends only through the end of the season. He’d been offered a two-year deal last season but turned it down saying, after years of home schooling, he wanted to go to college next year with other kids.

“I don’t think anything is changing,” Sarah said. “That was originally the plan, that this was going to be the last season,” she said.

“Not just his last season, but for the whole show.”
